IPL Hair Reduction

 IPL hair reduction

IPL hair removal treatments are an easy, and quick solution to unwanted hair and can be successfully used on the body or the face.  Usually a course of 6 –10 treatments is required to achieve optimal result, but once you've completed your treatment cycle, you can look forward to a lifetime of smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment. Compare that to the cost and hassle of a lifetime of waxing or shaving.

6 treatments spaced two to three weeks apart is usually required to reach your best possible outcome.

How does it works?

We use a high-powered, hand-held, computer-controlled flashgun to deliver an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light, generally in the visible spectral range of 400 to 750 nm. This light travel through the skin until it strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root). The light is absorbed, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are heated, destroying the hair-producing papilla.

How long does it take for your hair to fall out after IPL hair reduction?

In many patients the skin is slightly pink for 1-2 days; in others (generally, fairer patients) there is no pinkness after IPL. Hairs begin to fall out in 5-14 days and may continue to do so for weeks.

How long do you have to wait between IPL hair reduction sessions?

For hair reduction to be effective the hair must be treated during the active phase of growth. Performing treatments 4-6 weeks apart will give the highest chance of treating most of the hair follicles in the area during their active phase.

What are the side effects of IPL treatment?
  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Mild swelling

IPL Aftercare?
  • Avoid heat treatment like hot showers, steam rooms and sauna for at least 24-48 hours.
  • Use sunscreen to cover sensitive skin, and with the exception of mineral make up which can be used post treatment, avoid any make up for at least a day
  • Avoid waxing , tweezing or electrolysis as for the laser hair removal needs intact hair follicles to be effective.

- IPL treatments also available for acne, pigmentation, vascular and photo rejuvenation.
